As you likely know, Earth Day was yesterday. So now that the hype is over, we wanted to share a post-Earth Day message hoping that you'll think about our only home every day and not just on April 22nd.
As the earth continues to warm due to the scientific certainty of climate change, harsh weather will impact the growing seasons, wildlife habitats will shift, and plants that grow in specific areas might have a more difficult time germinating.
This newly emerged monarch butterfly (see photo), one of many on Chipco Preserve, might eventually join others for the great migration, which stretches for thousands of miles. Here, we purposefully ensure food is available for our 70 different species of moths and butterflies, but elsewhere there is trouble for our flying friends. Consider how you can help them where you live, or perhaps donate to Chipco Preserve so we can continue to support all our more-than-human friends.
