Today is World Wildlife Day. While cuddly pandas and ferocious lions come to the minds of many, consider wildlife closer to home. Bees and other pollinators are necessary for human food production. Similarly, birds and other animals spread seeds that increase carbon storage, while still others help manage forests and landscapes that help control wildfires.
What can you do? Learn more about the wildlife in your area and what you can do to ensure their survival. Also, consider making a tax-deductible donation to Chipco Preserve (501c3) which ensures the continued success of our protected species programs. We continue to provide a safe haven for our gopher tortoise colony, bald eagles, barred owls, red-shouldered hawks, and many more species. 100% of your donations go toward our programs. We accept no salaries for our work.
