Our flamevine before (left) and during (right) the days of freezing weather.
Now that the great freeze has arrived, are you struggling with the plant care aftermath? We understand, and it is easy to feel sad and perhaps angry. But you can take steps to help your plants rebound once the cold has passed.
Don't prune yet. It may take days for the damage to be visible.
Water the plants. The soil will likely be dry (perhaps frozen in some areas), and plants will need water.
Don't fertilize until the threat of seasonal frost has passed (use an organic fertilizer). If you encourage new growth and more cold weather arrives, the new growth may not survive.
Check out reputable sources online or speak with a professional for plant-specific care.
